We value respect, diversity and inclusivity, collaboration and compassionate quality service.POSITION OBJECTIVEProfessional Support Services ("PSS") requires one (1) Full-Time Social Worker.  This position will be based at the Hamilton location but travel will be required throughout Niagara, Hamilton, Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk.  Promoting Bethesda’s Vison, Mission, Values, and quality care the Social Worker will provide counseling, intervention and treatment to individuals who have experienced grief, trauma, social emotional difficulties, victimization, abuse, inter-personal relationship difficulties or post-traumatic stress through a holistic care approach.  The listed wage is based on candidates meeting all the position's requirements and their current level of experience. Candidates without the necessary requirements or experience may be offered a lower pay rate.Key Responsibilities:Conduct assessments and identify treatment goals/recommendations and number of service hours independently.Present assessment results, clinical recommendations and treatment reports to caregivers and community partners when appropriate.Monitor and evaluate clinical treatment plans and update as necessary.Provide Coaching and Support to Caregivers, Community Partners, Adult Clinical Services Team Members, and Students. Collaborate with Community Partners, and Interdisciplinary Team Members.Investigate ideas and plan the integration of engaging community activities into service options.Provide Brief Clinical Consultation Services.Provide Resource Consultation Services.Facilitate community connections, program registrations and referrals and share resources.Develop curriculum and resources for individual and group based treatment services.Develop curriculum and resources for individual and group based recreational services.Develop resources and program materials.Maintain client records and complete documentation as required.Assist caregivers completing funding applications and reconciliation forms and program registration documentation.Write Reports, Programs and Service Plans independently.Support adults engaging in risk behaviour while remaining calm, neutral, and effectively using non-violent crisis intervention strategies.Provide individual treatment services independently.Review service options with new referrals.Facilitates appropriate internal and community referrals. Coordinate scheduling with Manager, Adult Clinical Services.Develop and facilitate training opportunities for Adult Clinical Services, and Community Partners. Collect and analyze data. Actively participate in team meetings and provide suggestions, creative ideas and recommendations for strengthening Adult Clinical Services.Comply with Bethesda policies and procedures relating to health and safety.Responsible for reporting all health and safety concerns immediately following the Internal Responsibility System.Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSBachelor or Masters Degree in Social Work is required.Valid Ontario Social Work license or registration as required.Minimum three(3) years of social work experience in a health care setting or social service agency.Two (2) years recent post-masters experience in a clinical setting is preferredExperienced in the areas of assessments, interviewing and counseling.Expertise in dual diagnosis is preferred.Knowledge of developmental disabilities is required.Knowledge of psychopathology with a range of therapeutic interventions including psychopharmacotherapy is preferred.Experience working within a multi disciplinary team.Proficient with Microsoft Office.Valid Driver’s License.First Aid Training and CPR Certification.Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certified.Professional Communication Skills: professionally represents the company through strong communication skills, both oral and written. Teamwork: excels at working with others and communicating with a team to provide the most effective support to clients.Problem-Solving: able to navigate challenges and barriers, always looks for potential pitfalls and risks to help mitigate problems ahead of time, and knows when to ask for help.Proactive: anticipates and solves problems and issues before they are brought to your attention.Fluent in French is an asset The listed wage is based on candidates meeting all the position's requirements and their current level of experience.
