This position will work throughout the Fly Rd Vineland location and Niagara Region, promoting Bethesda’s Vison, Mission, Values, and quality care.  The Behaviour Consultant will work collaboratively with individuals, caregivers, community partners, clinical team and the Clinical Manager. This role will develop and provide behavioural supports, at Fly Road Vineland and within a variety of settings across the Niagara Region. The position will report to the Manager of Community Response Program.Key Responsibilities:Responsible for managing a caseload of 12 - 15 individuals.Complete client intake forms.Meet with existing supported living home staff and/or family members for information gathering upon client admission.Review Behaviour Intervention Plan and Behaviour Assessment Report with staff prior to admission to Supported Living Treatment Program.Provide staff training to supported living home teams upon discharge.Attend community behavioural committee meetings.Attend supervision meetings and consultation with other clinicians.Attend pre-admission conference with referring agency, staff and family for Behaviour Intervention Plan approval.Develop Behaviour Assessment Reports and Behaviour Intervention Plans and evaluation thereof.Completion of ecological assessment.Create data collection sheets and monitor client behaviour changes through data collection.Update consulting psychologist and psychiatrist regularly or as required to present data, problem solve or make revisions to the Behaviour Intervention Plan.Ensure Supported Living Treatment Program Behaviour Intervention Plans are being implemented through reviewing contact notes, observing staff, modeling, and weekly data analysis.Attending client doctor appointments.Monitor medications.Preparation and presentation of Case Conference Behaviour Reports.Maintain up to date client files.Internal or external referral to other agencies.Research articles regarding new information regarding behaviour management.Mediate programming disputes between families and support agencies.Maintain program with respect to varying philosophies and values.Site visits for direct observation purposes.Meet with referring agencies and/or caregivers on a regular basis to monitor client progress.Work closely with other clinicians involved (current Behaviour Consultants, Psychiatrist, Community Response Program, Professional Specialized Services).Provide training to staff, family, caregivers, etc. regarding implementation of Behaviour Intervention Plans which may include interaction strategies and physical intervention techniques.Arrange for special consultations with external agencies regarding specialized restraint techniques, if necessary, and train staff in these techniques.Attend weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and bi-monthly team/clinical meetings.Report writing, graphing, pivot charts, and client discharge presentation to the receiving agency.Investigate and purchase equipment required for programming.Develop and implement workshops for clients as needed (e.g. Anger Management).Present intakes at team meetings, Psychiatrist or Psychologist to determine admission criteria.Provide guidance and direction in the triaging process. Attend applicable workshops, and conferences to stay current on best practices. Develop and facilitate training opportunities for presentation at the BSRC meetings.Comply with Bethesda policies and procedures relating to health and safety.Responsible for reporting all health and safety concerns immediately following the Internal Responsibility System. All other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSDegree in Psychology Safety Care Certification.Masters and Registered Behaviour Analyst with the College of Psychologist of Ontario is required for level 3.
